What is premium volksverzekeringen?

Premie volksverzekeringen are social insurance contributions in the Netherlands that are paid by the employer on the monthly salary. Payment of the insurance is mandatory for legal residents of the Netherlands, as well as for non-residents subject to income tax. The second group includes, for example, Poles going to work in the Netherlands who do not have tax resident status.
